I love the first. I was going to pick up the second one this weekend. I want the red SG to go along with my black SG. I only saw a partial song list for the second one so far. They included some heavier tracks this time around like a Lamb Of God song correct? Did they include a Slayer track like the rumor I heard? Too bad they don't throw in some black metal like Emperor or Marduk. How is the new two player mode?

They have Dethklok! What do you mean leaves a little to be desired? There are some sick tracks in the mix. It's a way better song list than the first. Of course they had to center on mainsteam tracks that most people know and have heard just like in the first or it won't sell that well. I'm hoping with the success of the games that Red Octane will branch off in to some specialized Guitar Heros like a metal or blues edition. I think it would be cool to show off the wide varieties within a style instead of the free for all that they have going on now. Of course the sales probably won't be as good but they would definitely please fans like myself. Screw the red SG I just read about the wireless. I'm jealous of the 360 X-Plorer. I wonder if I can rewire the PS2 buttons and contols into the X-Plorer body.

i dunno, i think it may be the way they have them grouped together. like in shred, they go from cherry pie to butthole surfers and the stones? there are some good tracks but there are some that ive either never heard of or didnt care that much for when they came out. never was much on primus and have never heard of sword. but overall it hasnt kept me from playin for several hours everynight after work.
the two player coop mode kicks serious a$$. one plays lead and the other plays bass and you both get to play the entire song. they do still have the previous version under a face off mode, if you need to give your fingers a rest between riffs.
misirlou on expert is killin me!!!!!!!!!!!!! F orange!!!!!!

Don't you play bass on the Primus track instead of guitar? I agree that the grouping is kind of goofy but I think its all about the skill level. Bark At The Moon kills my hand in the first. Texas Flood is one of my favorite songs to play from the first. I barely ever miss a note of it. Damn, I may have to go get 2 tonight now we're talking about it.

How do you do these games? Is it the one I see idiots playing at the endcap at Best Buy? I have paid no attention to it 'cause I see real nurk mods playing and it frightens me away.

I see that song list and still play a lot of those songs , but on my real Fender and Gibsons , well G&L's too lately.

Recently sold my 100 watt Marshall, but have a Fender deluxe Reverb and A VHT Pitbull to see me through.

So can you use a real guitar with these games, or is the guitar the plastic thing I see at Best Buy? What is the deal here? Is this a musical trainer as well? I dunno, I'm out of the loop. Help me here guys, I'm interested, but scared at the Best Buy!

I learned most of the songs on the list by ear, so I'm sure I'd have some issues with the "TAB" or whatever the game folks give us. I'm likely wrong, but won't admit it! Still, it might be fun, and I want to get my daughter to play, so would this be a way?

Here's the real deal. Sabbath, Live 1970:
War Pigs. Kind of apropos these days.......

It's the plastic thing you see at Best Buy. The body is molded after a Gibson SG but it's like half the size. It has five colored buttons on the fret board, a strum bar where the pick ups would be, a whammy bar, plus start and select buttons. There is also a tilt sensor built into the guitar so when you build up your bonus meter you can throw the guitar straight up and play like a rock god. On the screen there is a fret board with little colored dots that come towards you that correspond with the fret buttons. You press the same colored buttons that the screen shows as you strum along with the music. It’s pretty basic but very addictive. It’s not really a musical trainer of any form but a fun game for people with a sense of rhythm. It's for people like me that love rhythm games and would rather make myself look like a fool rocking out on a little plastic guitar than make myself look like a complete fool dancing along with Dance Dance Revolution.
