Has writing gone the way of dinosaurs ?

I have read what some people have written on this forum and it's poor. No capitals when needed, no punctuations and just bad out grammer. Is the level of education in schools that bad now ?

I think texting has a lot to do with it.

Yeah I agree. But why can't people write correctly? Is that to hard to do? Are people that lazy in today's society ?

Yep! Instant gratification is the norm, can't wait to type out something properly. It's not like others really need to understand it.

I blame the auto-correct and auto-fill features of the smart phones. Some people rely on those features on their phones so much that when they come to a forum like this that doesn't do it they are lost! Those features make people lazy.

I think there are people who use the easier method, like Siri to text, and auto correct has bit me a few times, right George?
I have read the letters my Grand parents and parents wrote to each other during wartime, and they were eloquent and interesting.
No “like” or “whatever “ in the whole box .
I find most of today’s audience wouldn’t or couldn’t pay attention, I was a spokesperson for a well known organization, spoke at colleges and universities, large businesses, and nobody paid attention, thru the early smart phone days most would simply record a video.

I was being facetious. People don't realize that they are hard to understand when they fail to write a readable sentence.

Actually a lot of the poor writing I see is coming from people of all ages.
