HHR Bash
I gotta side with the nova guys. I've got the 2.4 w/5-speed and the drivetrain is the only good thing about the car. mpg is great and it zips around pretty good.
Other than that, I can't say much good about mine. the interior is rattling and shows dirt like crazy, the suspension is creaky, rattly, and bouncy, and torque steers like a bit*h. in the last 35 000 km (I'm Canadian), I've done shocks, sway bar links, and an exhaust cam sensor. ~$1000 if I hadn't done the labor myself.
It should have gotten a new steering column ~20 000 km ago since it's got "the clunk". ($500 + for the part, $200 for the labor)
But with all the interior rattling and suspension creaks, what's the point? It's really a huge POS, but I intend to drive it til it dies. Since I'm putting on 40 000 km a year, it shouldn't take long...
The upside? paid 8500 for it with 69 000km on it.
