I have to look at it this way, I'll just use let's say the 66 and 67 Nova. I remember when they hit the dealerships. the folks who bought the top of the line hard tops both SS and non SS versions looked down their noses at those who could only afford the 2 door sedan's. Here 40 years or so later, if you look around you will see that the hardtop's command a great price, but nipping on their heels are those annoying 2 door sedans. And in some circles the 2 door sedan's are even more sought after because they are much lighter than their hard top siblings and make much better drag racing platforms.

You can see the same thing in the 62 Chevy, 55 Chevy, 66/67 Ford Fairlane, and these are only some very small examples. The list goes on and on.

So to me and HHR is an HHR and I respect every one of the owners for having great taste in style like yours truely. Yeah true, the standard equipment may vary between models as do the list of options. But I for one bought the 1LT in preference over the 2LT because the latter had standard features that I didn't want, likewise, the LS didn't offer some things I did want. It's a combination of how much you want to spend, and how you want it equipped. But the bottom line is all three models share the same unique styling that got my attention in the first place. So if you got an HHR, no matter which model, you will get a nod, wave, horn, light's, or what ever from me, but never a turned up nose. -Dan

I bought the LT just because of what you could get with it and when I see an LS I still say there's another HHr. It doesn't even cross my mind that it is an LS or an LT. Sometimes I check out the options and the color, but that's about it.

As an owner of an LS i bought if for 2 reasons, the msrp, and the future mods i already knew i was going to do too it. To me why waste the extra $800.00 for the factory 17's when for a couple hundred more i can have the 18's i really want ? and im not a huge fan of chrome anyways so the addition of a chrome accent shifter handle and side mirror accents, roof rack were not a big selling point.
my msrp was 18,491.00 (-2,200.00) incentives = 16,291.00
Auto trans
pioneer 7 speaker system
upgraded head unit
Xm
premium mats
smokers package (no need)
running boards

now dont get me wrong i would never give disrespet to anyone for what they drive, unless its a Yugo or Miata

all tho if the 2lt was all-wheel drive and a turbo 4 or v-6 etc etc you bet i would have been in line for one of those, must be why i have been eyeballing the Caliber

I find the Caliber awkward looking.

That's a shame cause I think the Miata is a great little sports car. And as far as Yogo's go, my wife bought #60,000 sold in the US and got a bunch of free stuff with it as well as a year's supply of free gas. She worked for a delivery service at the time and often used it to run her route. Her little Yugo proved to be a great little car and served her well for 5 trouble free years. One evening several years ago some kids decided to vandalize cars in our neighborhood with profanity sprayed on using black paint, they hit several cars in our area including my wifes Yugo. Every car had to be either professionaly cleaned up or repainted except her Yugo. Our insurance gave us a heafty check because like the others they determined it would need to be repainted. I bought a can of mineral spirits and in less than an hour it looked as good as new, we tried it on some of the other cars but the paint just wouldn't come off. I'll be the first to admit, the Yugo was far from a work of art. But if used as it was intended to be used it was just fine. Back then a lot of folks tried to use it as they did a VW Beetle and found out the hard way that it just wasn't as durable. Oh yeah, come to think of it we did have some issues with it. We had to replace the clutch cable once at a cost of $11.00 and it took me about 10 minutes to replace, then there was the constant breaking of the window regulator handles, they set us back $3.00 a piece so I just bought a box of a dozen for each side to keep on hand and when we got rid of it we had gone through about half of them....what a POS.

Other than that, it never once went into the dealership for anything.

BTW: My new HHR has an appointment tomorrow at 1:45 to find out why my AC compressor roars. This is the first time EVER that I've taken ANY new car I've bought back to the dealer for repair......But I do love my HHR :)

I got the LS and love it. I was always the guy who didn't like chrome and liked the stripped down look. Also, I appreciated the price more. Big engine??? Nah, when I passed 55 years old, I lost the "need for speed". Now I go for looks and gas mileage. This is probably the best car I have ever owned. I love it.

Nope, but I do laugh, jeer, make rude comments and basically give a rash of s*@$ to every PT Cruiser that I encounter...hey it's who I am, gimme a break...
