How fast can a 50 year old run when...

He just ran his weed trimmer into a nest of angry yellow jackets? Well, once I realized why my legs were stinging and hurting and the buzzing started getting in my face, almost as fast as my SS goes.

Man, it sucked. Wearing shorts, I got stung on my legs about 30 times and I am swollen and sore today. I ended up calling 911 to see if they had some kind of relief thing. They did. I think I'll wear blue jeans when I do that kind of work from now on.

On a positive note, about 15-20 minutes after the attack, I could still hear my weed trimmer running in the back yard. (I dropped it and ran). The cop who came by turned it off and brought it up to the deck. Gotta love that Echo trimmer, they run great.

Thankfully you don't have an allergic reaction to them. This is how my brother-in-law passed away. He was digging in his back yard when he hit a nest and was bombarded with stings. They tried using an Epipen shot but it failed so they jumped in the truck to head to the hospital. He went into anaphylactic shock and passed away before even getting out of the driveway.

It was a moist towelette wipey thing. It worked for a while, but I was in agony trying to sleep last night, and today it's not much better. I think I'll SS over to Walgreens at lunch.

I swell up when stung by yellow jackets real bad. The Doctor tells me to take BENADRYL which contains Diphenhydramine.

Diphenhydramine (dye fen hye' dra meen) works by blocking the effect of histamine at H1 receptor sites. This results in effects such as the reduction of smooth muscle contraction, making diphenhydramine a popular choice for treatment of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, hives, motion sickness, and insect bites and stings.

I knew about Benadryl because my son has multiple food allergies. I didn't realize there was a topical version though, and hadn't taken any of the oral stuff. I got the cream and it helped out a lot.

This morning at 5am, armed with a flashlight an a can of raid wasp & hornet spray, I did 'em.
