Quick Question anyone know and pluses minus of not having a Basement? One of the houses were looking at is a nice price and only a few years old buy no Basement.

W/ a basement you can have a theater room, projector everything. Unless you have a big enough spare bedroom on one of the first 2 floors.

That's what I have. And I also have an extra room in the basement. When it's hot and humid, you get a better sleep in the basement. Less traffic noise, and also about 4 or 5 degrees lower.

She only wants to drive 1hr one way. So Rockford,Roscoe,Belivedere area.

Right now have alot of extra space. No Kids, House is a Short Sale. Needless to say we can buy it for under 120k which for around this hell hole area is dirt cheap. I'm thinking financially cheaper is better due to just starting out, Wedding and her lovely student loans for the next 30yr's.

I agree with the above posts, also if the basement is unfinished you can finish it to your liking and it will add resale value and more square footage when you decide to sell it.
