How about this texting thing. The kids are texting from a cell phone... why not just dial the number(speed dial) and friggin' talk to the other person. These ISPs for the phone companies must be really laughing at this stupid bit of technology. Can you say wasted $s.

On the upside we only had to pay 29.9 cents for a gallon of gas...At least in 1973 that was.

And the shock, horror and outrage when that price went to 0.30/gal.

I was already married by then.

"When I was your age boy, we had to get up off the sofa and walk over to the TV to change channels!"

One of my personal favorites.

Try black & white,manual tune TV when I was a kid.You were deluxe if your TV antenna was mounted on your house's roof,REALLY deluxe if it had a motor to move it around(they wee called Tenna Rotors).And don't forget rotary dial phones,40 inch wide stoves,and hand cranked ice crushers.If she was very lucky your Mom had an Ironrite to do ironing.

We even had to carry all those large 8 track tapes around in a huge suit case, now 4000 songs on a tiny MP3 player the size of a credit card..

I hope you don't still have any 8-tracks.

I know what you mean, I've ripped all my CD's to mp3 and sold all my CD's to the used books/records store. I still have a couple hundred LP's but they haven't seen the light of day in 20 years.

Keep those LPs. You can get a USB Turntable to play/rip them to MP3.

Lot of money in that collection, I bet.

Atari's? heck no--we PLAYED OUTSIDE or made up our own games.

Cable?! Really?
Try 13 channels and UHF with the bunny ears and foil on the tips.
At least our cartoons were more creative then marketing a toy.

@ngelita...

just barely had a tv...... black and white....... with those adjustable rabbit ears that dad sometimes would have to use alumium foil.....
