Anyone catch this story... Pluto no longer a planet...

i've been following the debate....................and have read alot of conflicting stories about what has or is proposed..........

And after all the talk about ADDING 3 additional bodies to the planet list.

 

They keep taking planets away from our galaxy, they'll have plenty of new bodies to add to the list.

 

Pluto will still be a Planet to me. How dare they!

 

I remember when I was in school oh so long ago there was a question if Pluto was a planet.

 

I think the International committe voted on this yesterday...according to todays local paper (who knows, though, they have been wrong before).

It is offical..Pluto is NOT a planet in our solar sytem. Neither is the other "questionable" obiting material that was recently discovered.

But, life will go on !!

 

They voted on a new definition for a planet...

"A planet must be round, orbit the sun and be the dominant body in its area".

Really, that kind of fits me.

 

Another view on the subject posted in the editorial section of today's local paper.

 

At least we still have Uranus!
