An Intruder came through my front door last night

So Im in the Computer room my Wife and 18 month old daughter are in the Kitchen when I hear my Wife start screaming get out get the **** out of here. I think to myself WTF I jump up and run straight to my Bedroom without even looking to see whats going on I could just tell in her voice that something was seriously wrong. So about 3 seconds later Im running to the front of the house Chambering my AK. The person that came in to the house was some Lady that was flipped out she saw the AK and went outside and ran in to my neighbors house. They then came out yelling because no one knew who the hell she was. She then went down the street to another house. So I called the Police and they came but I dont know what has happen from there. If she would had had any kind of Weapon the Castle Doctrine would had gone into effect.

I posted the pro gun or anti gun after the incident I just thought I would share this with you guys today.

Poor choice of weapon for use in residential environment. 7.62 x 39 will over penetrate and go through other residence's walls and potentially injure or kill a neighbor.

For home defense a 12 gauge shotgun with 18" barrel (no choke) and buckshot is the preferred choice. It offers better chance of hitting the threat (spread pattern of buckshot) and over penetration into neighboring residences is less likely.

Above is, of course, to be observed in accordance with the laws of your state.

I use a 9mm with Black Talons (I use a different brand, but you get the idea). That way, you only see a small hole going in and a mess on the other side, but no real overpenetration issues. A 12-guage is too hard to hide and secure from kids and guests. Just my opinion, of course.

I use a Benelli 12 gauge with 16" barrel and several other guns as backup with enough ammo to hold off a small country for a week.

I always have at least one gun in my reach at all times.

Thankfully I have not had to use mine yet, but I am ready if need be.

18" is minimum barrel length in my state for shotguns. Anything less is legally defined as a sawed-off shotgun in the criminal code and possession of a sawed-off is a felony:

"Sawed-off shotgun"
Sec. 10. "Sawed-off shotgun" means:
(1) a shotgun having one (1) or more barrels less than eighteen (18) inches in length; and
(2) any weapon made from a shotgun (whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise) if the weapon as modified has an overall length of less than twenty-six (26) inches.

Iam very familiar with ballistics and over penetration. However I dont have FMJ's in that mag for just that reason. I have soft point lead tip ammo in it. I would have normally grabbed my FNP-9 but the AK was closer. At that point in the situation I didnt know if there was 1-2 or 3 Intruders. I knew that I had to act immediately. I consider my self to be very proficient in firearms usage. I shoot weekly at a private range.

Heres a pic

Hey Sanddragger.....................I usually don't say this to guys, but nice weapon! Me, I keep my S & W model 19 handy. I don't think it really matters what you have in your house, it's gonna be who shoots first and most accurately that wins.
