Feels odd to be a newbie on a board again. I moderate over at nastyz28.com.

Been reading the board here for a few weeks, getting ready to order a new HHR for the family. This site has been informative for me prior to ordering. We did a 3 day test drive on a HHR from the local chevy dealer a few weeks back and liked it. Due to my house not being sold and finances are not in order yet, we choose not to buy off the lot, but order and hopefully in the 3 month wait time all our finances will be balanced out.

After reading the board I wish this wasn't going to be the family car, cause I like to modify and customize. It will get a few bolt ons and something to distinguish it from another HHR, but thats about it.

Hope to get it ordered by this saturday, any info or little secrets about ordering that I should now about. any special options that aren't really listed/advertised.

There should be plenty of HHRs to choose from around our area. Maybe you've done a internet search already?

The only Chevy deal I've heard about is that $500 off any new car that has been on the dealer lot for 120 days. (which might be hard to find with a HHR)

jd, we found a couple we could have gotten right now, but we chose to order cause of the finance situation. As far as conduct on the site, doesn't seem like a bad place to hang out. I actually get a decent discount on Chevy's and chevy parts, my wife works at a local chevy dealer and gets a discount on cars and parts.

txsman, spying/lurking, yep that has been me. I didn't want to be one of those lurkers hiding out too much longer. Car is not ordered yet, hope to this weekend, but planning an an almost loaded 2LT. I think the only options I am not taking are the onstar, rubber bumper pad, premium floor mats, and the roof racks.

And while we are on the options, can anyone tell me why with the color Sunburst Orange II you cannot get a spolier from the factory, it has to be painted and installed by the dealer That is just stupid

 

Aren't all spoilers dealer installed just like the running boards? At least thats what I thought. I made sure my HHR didn't have a spoiler because I think it ruins the vehicle.

 

That is dumb. I have not heard that. That would explain some reason why not a single orange HHR around here has a spoiler.

 

States right on the order form and in the sales brochure, not available on Sunburst Orange II

YES, I got a pro street harley I built and had custom painted back in 99 almost the same color. And the attention it has drawn made be choose this color for the HHR

 

I was thinking the same thing... since you mentioned owning a Harley in your sig. Orange is definitely an attention getter!

I don't own a bike myself but a lot of my buddies do, plus I used to be the drummer in the "Burnt River Band" a few years back. (played Stugis, Daytona etc) Seen & been around quite a few nice a** bikes... sounds like yours is no exception!
