Knee Replacement

Has any one out there had the pleasure of a knee replacement?

I had one on Oct 3rd and still limping around, knee still swollen and sore. My Dr told me I would be back to normal within 6 weeks it has now been 8 weeks. I am sick of it.

I have been off crutches for almost 3 weeks. But still use those stupid electric carts at the store.

My brother had both his knees done last week. He got home this past Friday. A couple months ago he had a hip done. So we'll see how he makes out.

I had a partial knee done. Just the outside of the knee. You'd think after 8 weeks I would be doing a whole lot better. I picked the best ortho surgeon in the area too.

I had it done in Oct thinking by the time snow and ice got here I'd be good to go. HA

I am scheduled for both outer knee replacement in February. My understanding is it is a much easier replacement and the recovery is quicker.

Wink Knee

I had my right knee replaced (TOTAL) Sept 07. Four weeks of rehab at Newark Health Care and then was turned loose for out patient, twice a week back to rehab. When my knee bent to 120 deg. I was done...
Took about seven months before I could due stairs without a little discomfort...
Now I can say I am pain free and loviing it after nearly twenty years of solid pain due to the knee being absolute junk due to football and wrestling and being on crutches for twelve years.
Too bad I had to wait till I was sixty to have iit done....Missed a lot of things to do !!

Had some laproscopic surgury last Jan. and now I am considered permanently partially disabled. I had a tear in the miniscus and had to have the ragged edge scraped. I limp now and have trouble on uneven ground, weakness in the knee too. It was supposed to be a routine fix but didn't help, now I am going for retraining. It was a work related injury, so WSIB is footing the bill, still, at 47, my life is totally changed.
