To save lives. Seriously. The Lion population had gone down so far that our deer population was exploding (and hunters only take the best ones, while lions take any of them). The deer population has gone down noticeably (around here anyway) so the number of motorcycle and auto collisions with deer are also down. When I am on my bike, watching out for deer is top of my list, along with test messagers.

Pet dogs kill more people than Cougars, let the Puma's live.

This is from dogbites.org.
18 US fatal dog attacks have occurred so far in 2008. Pit bull type dogs were responsible for 61% (11).

2008 Dogs 18, Cougars 0

We actually have a small population of black panthers here in Washington county. My wife and I saw one for a brief moment a few years back down by the creek. Gorgeous animal.

ummm Holy Smokes!!!!. chill your roll man it was a joke, that's why i put the little smiley face thingy jeez bud. I just thought it would be cool to see a pic of it happening. I guess you can call me sheltered since those animals are no where near where i live, ill see a fox every now and again, and that's about it. Also i did not call you a liar at all.

Probably no longer relevant and applicable to the thread] but : In 1975 we moved to San Diego to a new subvision in Mira Mesa - on school mornings I had to take up the habit of carrying a big stick with me to the Bus Stop. There was so many coyotes coming in from the nearby canyon to feed on the trash from the 7-11 across the street they were probably more scared of me than I was of them

I think that is cool...here in New England we don't see too many wild animals like that although they are around...I had to go to Alaska to see my first moose for crying out loud and I've lived in this area my entire life! lots of chipmunks and squirrels and dead skunks though

I would think living in NH I'd see a lot more deer...nope although we are coming up to November when a lot of the Deer strikes happen

Goose

PS and yeah what Chad said is pretty common speak on internet forums....I'm sure it was said along those lines and not malicious in any way
