It all started when parents stopped caring.

It would be cool if one of the teachers on the site jumped in with their take on school violence.

i think in all seriousness, this all started with the demise of Saturday morning cartoons. laugh now, but think....i'm only 29, we had cartoons in my day, and we didn't have problems like this. i grew up about 20 miles from Lincoln and Sudbury(in Ayer and Lunenburg, for those that know the area), and we never had anything more serious than the occasional brawl in the hallways. and that's just 12 years ago....times DO change. (ok, let me stop now, i am starting to sound old!

I agree. All this is because of BAD PARENTING. The divorce rate in America is at an all time high, and the amount of kids growing up in a single parent home is as well. Back in the day, not only did we get "spanked" when we needed it, we also got our "a$$ beat" when we needed it. Today a "spanking" is nothing but a joke to a high school kid. Us as parents need to take control and recognize what the hell is happening to our kids, and cant look any further than ourselves for the solution. Turn off the Plasma TV,MP3 player, PS3, IPOD,Computer,Etc.... and go outside, play some ball, go to a car show, or something that forces you to interact with your kids.

I know where everyone is coming from, but I think most of you missed the boat in this situation. It's not really the parents fault here. It's not lack of cartoons or anything like that. The kid who did the killing suffers from a mental disease that he has no control over. Check this out.............

As for a lot of the others who commit similar crimes, I agree. Parents overbabied them, never held them accountable. Sometimes there's nothing like a good, swift, well deserved kick in the pants to set a kid straight.
