Medical Question
We are animals. Cholesterol is a natural element. The difference is that we are what we eat. I don't know if anyone could ever achieve a "perfect normal" once the bad process has begun ( bad habits such as smoking, bad diet ), but then again, I'm no rocket scientist either. I do what I can and hope some day to cut back on some of my meds, but we shall see.
Cholesterol update
Bad news on the doorstep this morning.
Just announced that Vytorin and Zetia do absolutely nothing for heart disease. While it reduces HLD, LDL and Triglicerides, it doesn't stop heart attacks, etc.
This means it is back to square one for all of us that have had muscle problems with the statin drugs. Wonder where we go from here.....

My Cardiologist put me on 40mg of Lovastatin a couple of years ago. I did have some aches and pain for a while, but what really concerned me was that my "total" Cholesterol dropped down to around 96!!Now I only have an occasional pain in the neck! (Her name is Kathy!)
So you think the dosage may be too high. I never thought about that. My doctor may be trying to lower my cholesterol too quickly. I have news for her. It's been around 200 for over 10 years.
