Yea man but the "Fat Back" on the bikes look wicked and I imagine contact with that much rubber helps the grip and propulsion ...I mean I have no real knowledge but I can look at it and see a point ya know?
Actually anything bigger than a 200mm wide starts having funky handling in turns. Basically cause on an angle /lean there are 2 separate lines of tracking. One is fighting the other..
Certainly not for traction, since they ride on the crown of the tire.
It's just for looks. & imo that fad is passing....(happy days)...
