Moving Sucks Rocks!!!

Tomorrow (Sunday) morning is our official move date from Modesto to Madera.

I remember when moving was an exciting thing, but then again I was a wee lad when I thought that. Now it sucks rocks!

Who could ever imagine how much 'junk' a married couple could accumulate in a lifetime. Truly, truly amazing.

Did I mantion that moving sucks rocks?

Time for bed, me go sleep now.

Hope it gets better in the morning.
When I have moved, that is when the true spring cleaning happens.
And the trash guys really hate that, But papers are always shredded, unless I need to keep them.
Enjoy the move!

If you can't decide- throw it away.
Grasshopper Say: by the time you care enough to look at it again, you'll forget you ever had it.

We need to do lunch with Ken and Margie b4 our next G2G, since we're in the same general area.

I feel your pain! After 12 years of living in the Bay area, I moved from Berkeley back to Santa Ana (425 miles) 2 years ago and it was pure pain...2 Trips with a heavy duty Silverado (first trip with a 10 ft. trailer attached)--second trip: Silverado again, my S10, 3 cats and a chihuahua...

When I first moved up in 1993, my whole 'life' fit into my 1989 GEO Metro (which I still own!)

Good luck!

I am moving on Saturday. Fortunately it is only a couple miles away in the the same town. I am amazed at how much crap I have managed to collect. And my wife and I are pretty good at getting rid of stuff we don't use. We have our spare bedroom full of boxes and are only half packed!

I remember when I moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario, I was amazed at how much stuff I had accumulated in a 1 bedroom apartment.

After I had tossed out and donated a ton of stuff, I still had almost a full moving container full. Now that I'm married and we basically merged two apartments into a small townhouse, I'd be afraid to even think about how long it would take to pack and move again.

You won't get any sympathy from the many military members on this forum. I lived in the same area for 28 years then married into the military. We moved three times in 6 years. The good part about it is you keep down the amount of junk you have stored. Of course, the trash man hates it when you leave piles at the curb! Yard sale time!
