What about Dir En Gray (spelling)? or Stabbing Westward? (maybe SW isn't as metal as some but still good to me!) And as far a Christian rock goes some of the bands aren't that bad. I really like Anberlin. Used to like Switchfoot but not anymore.

Ah yes.. Stabbing Westward is some good stuff. Interviewed them back in 93 when I worked for the college radio station. Bunch of great folks.

Joker,
I haven't heard Flyleaf, but I'll definitely give them a listen. We are always looking for good stuff to do our human videos to. It doesn't necessarily have to be CHristian for those, but it does need to bring a message. We did one a couple of years ago to Iris (Goo Goo Dolls) that was probably one of our best human videos as far as the message we presented. We've also used some of the Creed Stuff (One Last Breath, My Own Prison), and we use a lot of the controversial (at least in our area) POD.

Why would P.O.D. be controversial? I personally don't like them and never have but I don't understand why they would be controversial.

Does anyone like Third Day ? If you havent heard them , listen to their offerings albums . their live recording are great. much better than the studio stuff. That is the mark of a great band, when they can sound better live than do on their albums . Very few can do that !
I love the music of Third Day. Have your heard Big Daddy Weave or Todd Agnew?

I am looking forward for the new Newsboys CD coming out next month.

Flyleaf, Paramore, Chevelle, Skillet, 12 stones, Anberlin, Emery and Tool are some of my favorites. I also like Third Day alot. It just depends on what I feel like listening to.

No hip hop has been entered in this thread yet so I'll enter Aesop Rock. Deep abstract hip hop. Check out the track No Regrets, its one of my favorite songs ever. just click play on that page to hear it. The song is beautiful and has a powerful message.
