Unhappy My first deer hit!

I hit my first deer on Saturday March 27th!!! I had absolutely NO time to react, she made it across the two West bound lanes and the Median and one lane on my side of the interstate, I saw her right when she was at my drivers front corner (there was no other cars on either side so no way of seeing her) I had a bad feeling when I left Madison that i was going to hit a deer! So I was pretty alert!
I hit her shoulder and her rear end swung around and dented my fender, ( she defecated all over the fender) I was in shock and kept driving, my husband told me Kathie pull over stop! I pulled over and called Wisconsin state patrol. When he got there I asked him is he saw the deer, he said no. She did die immediately I saw her the next day against the guard rail. I felt so bad!!!!!!!!!!
So $5000.00 later RED WOLF is in the shop.

Ouch! It's AMAZING how much damage a deerstrike can cause. You'd think that in an "animal vs 3000lb car" confrontation the car would win but I've seen full size SUV's trashed after hitting a deer. I hope you'll get you HHR back better than before.

The hood had stone dents, so new hood, repair shop found also needed new radiator and condenser. The damage was not that bad visibly.

Was anyone hurt in the GMC?? wow that would have been scary!! I know it was for me, I felt really bad for the deer and thank goodness we were ok.

Oh my goodness I am sorry!! Good thing you are OK. A friend of mine was headed home for Thanksgiving a few years ago and swerved to dogde a deer, and rolled his car - he had his seatbelt on and WOULD have been completely uninjured except the 20 pound turkey he was bringing home hit him and broke his jaw. He makes many jokes about dont worry about the deer - be careful of the turkeys.

That is weird! He was very lucky! If I would have had time to react I probably would have crashed too.
