National Coming Out Day
National Coming Out Day
I want to start off by saying that I know that there are people on this site that feel differently than myself/others on this issue but ask that people just respect each other and keep this thread positive.
Thursday, October 11 is National Coming Out Day! I have been OUT for almost 13 years and have been very lucky with the support I have received from family/friends including many from this site. So to those people I say "THANK YOU!!!"

That's a choice you made and be thankful you had positive support. What galls me is the people who make it their business to "out" people. Let people be, when they want to come out, they will, when they feel it is right. I have a great friend who is gay and he is "out" as far as certain situations, but he wouldn't just announce it unless he was comfortable. Most people don't know he's gay because he does not fit the media stereotype (Queer Eye, et al). In fact, he races cars and owns muscle cars. I also have a nephew who IS stereotypical...a real flamer. BTW, I am right wing, conservative, born again Christian and I have no problem with my gay friends and I voted against DOMA initiatives.
Dayton, I have no intention of judging you or anyone else on this issue, I was extremely pleased to meet you and Chris and honestly could care less about your personal choices...you guys are fantastic friends and Rita loves both of you, which tells me a lot...I just wish that there weren't so many miles between us as we all would love to have you guys around more often. Thank you for being the friends that you have become...

I work for the Gay owner of a business and next to his gay nephew. No one would know they are gay. What irks me are the Gay pride parades. The freakshow, Like a bad hairpiece , gives all gay men a bad name..
