New old stock

I stopped in a visited with a friend of mine today that owns a vintage motorcycle shop.

As soon as I walked in the door he said I have to show you the bike I just bought.

It is a 1974 MZ TS 150 motorcycle. It was made in east Germany.

The cool factor for me is it is still packed in the crate it was shipped in.

It is literally new old stock. The plastic is still on the seat and all the chrome has the factory protected sipping coating.

It was shipped to Columbus Ohio from east Germany.

Here is a picture of the shipping label on the other side.

I think it very cool. Just something you don't see everyday.

Wow - what a find. Does he plan on getting it running, or keep it as is?

That Comstar wheel half hidden at the front of the crate sure looks clean - any idea what that Honda is?

I think he has decided to leave it as is.

It looked semi-familiar. I had a 1980 400 Sport (forget the exact model name now) - was a great lil city bike.

Sounds like that is a fun shop there.

He has a nice shop. He buys old stock and hard to find parts. He also does some restoration.

He ships and buys international also.

He just shipped an factory original unrestored 48 Indian to some museum in the UK

That wheel might be from that 400 Hondamatic he has listed. I am embarrassed to say I once had a 750 Hondamatic - worst driving motorcycle I ever had. It's only saving grace was that it came with a Velorex sidecar, which made the bike a great machine for the winter in the snow and rain, and hauling dogs around in.
