New set of wheels comes home
New set of wheels comes home
well, we bought a new house, and decided to sell off the old cars(not old, just old in our lives) and get some new things...
we had a SHOW CONDITION, 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC that we sold last week. 10 minutes after taking the cash, we went around the corner to our racing friend's shop, and bought his little truck.
2001 Chevy S10 extra cab.
4.3 Vortec, QZ8 package, new KYB's and Goodyear GT1 tires, fresh tune up, and brakes, and a dream to drive.
Brenda wanted a truck, and I loved this S10 the day our friend bought it...he had to scale down his fleet, so we took it off his hands.
Love it.
Now we are almost complete...just sold my 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII to a dear friend, who will be picking it up in a few days, and then we are officially a ALL CHEVY household.
2006 HHR 2LT
2001 S10
1995 1/2 ton Suburban(race tow rig)
1985 S10 Pro Street drag truck.
...oh, except for our 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 440-6pack car
here's the new wheels.

Here's the car we sold:
1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC 4.6 DOHC 32-valve all aluminum V8(290hp/290tq)

I LOVE that Indigo Blue on the S10. I have a 99, V6 4.3, same color that is stock--I have to admit that the 3rd door and color is why I bought it. :)
Couldn't part with my Indy!
Nice addition to the familia!

We sold the Lincoln because we never drove it. The car was a garage queen...it saw MAYBE 300 miles in the last two years. The value on them is dropping like a hot potato, and I had a customer who was looking for one, so we jumped on the opportunity.
I wouldnt say it was a change from a Mark VIII to a truck...she never drove the Mark VIII, and has always had a truck...so we used the Mark VIII cash to buy her the sweet little S10.
we LOVE it.
I also have a Black on Black 94 Mark VIII...it has been my pride and joy since 2003. It has more modifications done to it than I care to list....it has sort of become known on the web as "Black Ice"...I am selling it too...a good friend of mine in Palm desert wants it, and since Ford's HORRID black paint has clear coat issues, and I've racked up 178k miles on it, I decided to sell it to him cheap.
great car...but no...Lincoln will not come out with a Mark IX...they did once...as a concept...it was a 2-seater based on the last T-Bird...and it never came close to production. Then they came out with a Mark X concept...looked nice, but NOPE...now they have a Mark LT....a truck....yea, brilliant there, Lincoln...talk about following the crowd...everybody was selling trucks, so FoMoCo's luxury division decides to stop tooling a luxury coupe, and builds a luxury truck instead.
...and they wonder why their in the toilet.
