Nissan Altima 2.5... not so much
Wife's Beetle diesel is in dealer shop to address a water leak in the hatch area. They gave her a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 for loaner car. Its okay, but I'm not that impressed with the build quality. I know people may accuse me of bias, but I genuinely believe my HHR feels tighter, body-wise, just driving around and when shutting the doors, etc. The interior on the Alty also seems ho-hum to me, although the steptronic auto trans shifter is kind of neat.
I work with a guy that worked for Nissan for 8 years.
He said they don't really care about quality as long as they get those 604 cars out per night, they don't care.
Said there could be 900 screws missing on a car/truck as long as it got out that door. It wasn't Nissan's problem after they left the door, let the dealer handle it!
That was the same way GM did their employees years ago, and it ended up bitting them in the A$$.
Looks as tho Nissan is heading that same direction.

I took a ride in 3.5 Altima a few months ago. Seemed like a worthy replacement for the Maxima which moved up in class. Great looks and rode really nice and smooth and moved..and I mean moved lol
