O6's 52 chevy pickup buildup pics

Okay as you all know in the "are you a car nut" thread, I was talking about a friends 52 chevy pickup that I was helping him buil up. Here are a few pics of it enjoy, I will be sure to keep udating the pics as the progess contiunes. So far we have striped it off the frame and repainted the frame after we wire wheeled it and grinded on it a bit. We are at the point of a rolling chasis. Next we are going to put in a new Chevy 350 motor with a 350 trans.

I like that extra ventilation in the right front fender. Yes, you have quite a job ahead of you. But when it's finished, you'll love it!

OMG - YOU ARE NOT REALLY DOING IT, are you?? You're really going to fix it? It looks insurmoutable -- do you actually have any life left over, or energy, after working on that huge thing?

I'm in complete awe and cannot WAIT to see this as it goes along. What, are you bucking for some kind of super sized CROWN in heaven or something doing all this work on someone else's car? Amazing.

The engine -- you can't keep that, can you? But, oh, the cab, the front end - it's so classic, I can just see in in turquoise!! Remember what they did to the old beat up truck in CARS, the movie? They painted it this really sick acqua??

And the steering wheel - can you still get one? You can't fix that, right?

The frame looks brand new! Good job on that - I guess that's where it all starts. Sorry, I am raving, rambling.... classic car nut with no skills talk....

Yes We were thinking about painting it that color, Yes I am doind it we are using that cabe we have it primed. Today we took a 350 motor out of a donor Camaro, with the 350 trans. We also took the steering from the camaro. Got the motor on the motor stand now, prepparing to be stripped down to get rebuilt. Its a Friend of mine down the street from me, its his 52. Hes only 14 so I thought I would give him a hand , along with his dad we have been doing alot of work on it. His dad baought the Camaro for 600 bucks, the motor, has a demon carb and lots of other mods to it. We are going to make it look good agian and repaint the block. I will take some pics when I get to it. I just dont have anything to do on the weekend so I do this, I love old cars, trucks! We repainted the frame a couple weeks back, now working on the motor to get it mated up with the frame....

Im just that NICE of a guy..

You have just got to keep that "aaoogaa" horn and put it somewhere on the rebuild.

Hey '06 I am building a '52 Deluxe (car) with my son...we just finished lowering it and the front fender height just went from near chest high (yeah I know I am short...hahaha) to just below waist high, with the 15 inch front tires tucked nicely up in the front wheelwells !!! We do have some extra and interchangeable pieces so if you guys run into a situation give me a pm...next is to finsh the fuel cell install and upgrade of the fuel system and then we begin the change from 4 door sedan to 2 door roadster !!! I will post pics tomorrow...

Why does the complete truck shot show a leaf spring suspension and the frame shot shows a coil spring suspension?
