Off from the HHR world.. But Car Audio
I have a freind at work that has a 00' Pontiac TransAM T-Top and the Rear Lower speaker next to the back seat recently blown.
Does anyone know these cars that well ?
like how to get that panel out to pull the old speaker out..

I had a 4th gen Z28 and all I had to do was remove the speaker cover with a flat head screw driver. The stock speakers back there are some type of mid bass speaker and very little high sounds come out of it. I think it was a 6.5 inch speaker. I replaced those speakers with a set of Boston Acoustics mid and tweet set.
I paid big dollars for them. You can go with a Pioneer 3 way for nothing much. I would add a side panal subwoofer back there for bass and sound quality.
If they did not change them from the first ones I worked on all you have to do is take the screw out of the hook at the top of the panel, grab the top of the padded panel and pull it towards the roof.
The panel should come off and then just remove the speaker and reassemble just like it came off. Hope this helps. (ps. if you pull on or pry the panel off you may break off the tabs and spend a lot longer to fix it than to change the spaeker)
