An old Chevy ad I'm trying to find

I think it may have only ran once in Car and Driver in maybe the mid 90s and it had a picture of a 57 Chevy and I underneath it simply said:

We didn't design it to be a classic, it just turned out that way.

Ring a bell with anyone? I'd kill for a poster of this!!

Or even an image of it online!

Exactly... Although catering to older clientele, perhps the tag lines could be altered for modern, younger people but the ad agency was brilliant.

I hadn't seen most of those.

I'm pretty sure the one had either the profile of a black or red 57 Chevy or at the very leat the prominent tail fins and it just said, "We didn't design it to be a classic, it just turned out that way."

Ugh, it's keeping me up at night and it's not even critical to anything for me!

Some of these ads, I remember, were "one time" ads, I've had a subscription to Car and Driver since bout 1980 and I remember seeing it once!

Thanks for your input, these are all great!

I know Exactly the one your talking about that said>

"We didn't design it to be a classic, it just turned out that way."

But i'll be damned if I can find it anywhere.

Kinda shocked I can't locate it.

I know! It may be the best one. And there are so many cars they could apply it too, although unfortunately at this point in time perhaps they aren't thinking the past is where they need to be putting people's thoughts.

I'm sure we'll turn it up. I'm gonna put an email into Car and Driver!

My favorite one is the "They don't write songs about Volvos" ad. Love it! I saw that in Car and Driver a while back, but didn't see any of these other ads, they're geat!

This is the one that I like. Makes me think about the HHR SS that I drive. Has heritage and history.

What powerful machining DNA's behind the neighbor's Honda next door? The '66 Honda 50?

Which heritage would you want to be associated with; the one above or the one below?
