Olmpics Protests

Should we really be protesting the Olympics? I know what China is doing is HORRIBLE, but, The Olympics is about the Games, and SPORTS, Why do we need to bring politics into everything, All nations should be able to go, and honor their respective atheletes, as it was meant to be. NOW, i do recognize difference of opinions, and if ppl want to protest, but to disrupt the Olympic Flame Tour so much that they are thinking of cancelling it???

It's not about the politics it about the emotions that get riled up in people that is making it a hindrance to the torch tour.

People simply have WAAAAYY too much time on their hands to be protesting every little ol' thing. In today's world, if people aren't protesting, then they're "expressing concerns" over things which have either not happened yet or have only allegedly happened. After they determine that their concerns are not being addressed, they file suit.

It does seem odd that, relative to the Olympics, countries all over the world clamor and spend millions putting together proposals to host the Olympics, and then don't have the common decency to send out law enforcement to appropriately bash any and all protestors who oppose such events.

I still remember the boycott of the Moscow Olympics in 1980. Some amazing athletes missed out on their opportunity to win gold. It was a major mistake. Because of that, I was waiting on the side of the road in Clayton MO in 1984 when the torch went by. I have pictures buried somewhere.

I hope they never boycott the Olympics again!

The Olympics are about unity, not politics. If the same protester really cared about Chinese-Tibet politics, they'd stop supporting the Red Chinese regime by boycotting their products.

I bet you the "Free Tibet" flags are 'made in China'
