One Year Car?
One Year Car?
Now that HHR PNOY has dumped his HHR for another vehicle, my question is this....is the HHR a one year car? Seems to me that slowly but surely people who have been quite active in this forum, as well as others are trading or selling their HHR's for other vehicles. Is this the coming trend?
I couldn't afford to change cars that often.I usually get at least 5 years out of a car before I move on. I hope to get at least 7 with Sally. My 10 year old wants me to give it to her for her first car.
I've kind of grown tired of my HHR and feel a new car may be in my near future. The novelty of the HHR has worn off, I seem to have outgrown the car, and I don't think the HHR is the greatest vehicle ever built. In retrospect I probably should have traded my Mustang for something larger like a Trailblazer from the start but the HHR caught my eye mainly because of the styling and I needed something right away with the birth of my second daughter approaching. I wish I had thought the purchase though more thoroughly. I'm in no super rush to dump the HHR though. I will take my time and find something I can live with for more than three years because that seems to be my trend in changing vehicles. I don't see myself owning my HHR for more than another year or so. Besides I had a lot more hope for the vehicle when it launched and now that it's been out for a while I'm starting to lose faith in the aftermarket and GM. My HHR isn't quite built with the quality I had originally thought but I didn't start to realize that until the car hit about 20,000 miles. I've been considering trading my HHR for a Nitro or Trailblazer for a while now.
owned mine for just over a year now and Still love as much as the day I bought it. I'm going to keep this car for a long time. Maybe in a few years I'll make it into a V8 rear wheel drive car. Well that is the plan.
I'll be keeping my HHR for at least 5 years, and mabye longer. When I bought the HHR I was looking for a dependable, fuel effecient car with room for my two children and more, and had style. The HHR still fits my needs perfectly, and should for the lifespan of the car. I don't change cars very often at all. In fact my last car (1999 Grand Am) I bought new and kept it until I traded it for my HHR last year.
That is exactly what's happening in most cases! I have a few people in my neighborhood that do just that, and they don't have HHRs. I think it's sort of a "Stay AHEAD of the Jones" mentality, rather than just 'keeping up with them!" It's like, "Have you seen my new car neighbor?? Oh, You have? Well, I guess I'd better trade it in and get something else! (And on and on it goes)
I will be keeping mine for a long time, I am not one of the people who bought the HHR & are growing tired of it...I am the exact opposite. In fact, my wife & I want a second one as soon as possible...I grow to love mine more & more every time I drive it. I financed mine for 72 months, and that is the minimum amount of time I will keep it...
I can't afford to trade very often. I would hope to keep the HHR at least 5 - 7 years. I like it so much, that if it got wrecked, stolen, etc. I would get another. Can't imagine life without one right now.
