That's ok, I know of two merry go rounds that go clockwise, and don't know by personal experience of any that go ccw (although that is apparently the most common) so that is a semi-bogus question/answer.

Update: I got an e-mail from a friend that actually owned a "merry go round" he says "A Merry-Go-Round goes clockwise. A carousel goes counter-clockwise"

We came to this conclusion later on as well. The one at Fort Wayne's Children Zoo and the one at Cedar Point must be classifed as carousels and the one at Glenbrook Square Mall must be a Merry-Go-Round. Now the question is what makes them one or the other besides the direction they turn

Just looked up webistes for all 3 locations and all of them are listed as Carousels so that debunks the directional statement.
