Project Nova Update

I know its not an HHR, but it is a Chevy. After about a month of minor repairs and cleaning up she is ready for her debut. Check out the before and after on the paint! That Maguiars detailing class paid off!

I did one fender and knew it was going to clean up nice

6 hours later...

Man, that looks great, what a difference some elbow grease makes!
Now it's time to take out the straight 6 and drop in a V8

Well, the 6 will have to stay for now since my daughter is the driver. However someday, she will move on to something else and then the V8 will slide nicely in place. I have all ready checked it out, an easy swap!

Looks good and clean. That 250 will run forever, nice and dependable. I hope the youngin' appreciates the nostalgic value.

NICE, Tim!
I was right when I said you got that car for you to play with!
Glad to see the truck has company now!

I want those wheels!

Wow! Nice car! Can't believe how much it really shined up with just some work! Just from looking at the other panels, I would have figured you'd almost need to repaint it!

Nice work, and a nice car!

By the way, what year is that?

Nice Nova!

What is the story on the 62ish Chevy truck behind the Nova? Is that yours too?

Thanks, yes that is my 63 stepside. I have had it for 20 years in August and bought it from the original owner. I would have to say that I learned how to work on Chevys with that truck. It is hands down the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. It was my daily driver for 17 years. I am hoping the Nova will be as reliable for my daughter. Plus I get to play with it too.

BTW:CrazyCarKid The Nova is a '75

Ugh! I'd love to live where I could have an old car as a daily driver without worrying about it rusting away, or having to paint it every 3 years (as we used to with my truck!)
