Ragan earns his first NASCAR pole for this Saturday's race in the O'Reilly 300.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- David Ragan earned his first NASCAR Busch Series pole Thursday night, edging Roush Racing teammate and series points leader Carl Edwards.
Ragan ran a lap of 191.063 mph on the 1 1/2-mile, high-banked Texas track, nearly 2 mph faster than Edwards, who qualified second for the O'Reilly 300 on Saturday.
The fifth of 44 drivers who tried to qualify, Edwards posted an early lap of 189.354 mph. That looked as if it would hold, with nobody getting any closer Casey Mears at 187.872 mph until Ragan took the track 34th.

It was not listed but I enjoy motorcycle road racing the best.Been to Daytona several times for Bike Week and had a great time everytime I went.As far as the others,I guess Nascar would be my favorite form of four-wheel racing.I am following Martin Truex currently because we both grew up in the same area of New Jersey.I also enjoy off-road stuff like the Baja 1000.

Die hard Intimidator fan here...when he died I have never really followed NASCAR like I did when he was racing..and I was a HUGE Nascar fan......

I still will watch it if I happen to be at home and it is one but I don't make it a point to make sure I am home to watch a race like I used to. Junior doesn't do it for me either...it is sad to see how some of the older racers are doing so badly now...DJ, Labonte etc.....how far they have fallen

WRC and and the american lemans series are the bomb. since they weren't on the list, had to go to F1. All I can say is thank god for SPEED channel, where all the good races are.

Formula 1, Drag racing, ALMS, BTCC, Aussie V8 Supercars, touring cars in general.

I used to watch NASCAR quite a lot, but after Dale Sr. died I stopped watching.

I like drag racing, but you forgot the most fun racing, the dirt trackers! In the mid 70s I drove a mini-modified when I was in Hawaii for two years.

Ya get dirty in the Dirt.

Drag racing!! noting like 14000 hp blasting by you !!!! you can truely feel the power!!

there is more power in one cylinder in a top fuel funny car than in an entire nascar motor!!

took the wife to her first real drag race 12 yrs ago and she was impressed when the power of the top fuel cars would knock drinks off the stands when they took off!!!
