road trip to Hotel HHR

Okay first, my black 1LT with 3500 miles, 490 miles, mostly at 75 mph with cruise and air conditioning running, averaged 29.7 mpg and ran like a dream...lots of looks and for a brief moment, in of all places, Murphysboro, Illinois there was a maroon 2LT directly in front of my black 1LT and we were passed by another black 1LT.
The trip was to be a tent camping weekend, but of course the weather decided to play a part and we had to deal with thunderstorms after a 225 mile drive to southern Illinois. Initially it wasn't bad, but it got progressively worse and we abandoned the tent for the cozy confines of the HHR. We dropped the rear seats, and the front passenger seat and snuggled in with sleeping bags for padding. My wife is 5'2' and I am 5'8' so there was plenty of room and we slept fine...and no hail damage to the HHR!!!

Awesome! Murphysboro is like 9 miles from my hunting ground in Carbondale.

I was thinking the same exact thing about SIHHR's comment, although I would have expected that one from the Captain!
