I have to ask how and why so many of you are losing your sense of smell. Is it due to medications you're taking, surgery or injuries, old age?

Personally, I thinking I'm losing all of them slowly. I guess that's called getting old!

I spent 28 years working hard, abusing my body. At the ripe old age of 50, I am paying for it dearly. Firefighting was great financially, horrible physically. Of course, there's some genetics thrown in the soup too.

Wow Hills tough question...like others have said they are seeing their senses lessening with age, but if a situation were to insist that one had to go I guess I would choose smell as well...

So it would have to be taste. Might like oysters then don't know.

You smell WHAT at work?!?!?

Sorry, this just seems & visually looks like something else, had to re-read a couple of times.

Ohh, OK, I am sort of familar, I worked with a Medical Equipment Provider, in your area/throughout FL for 3 years and was in and out of Nursing Homes & Hospitals. Although, I did not diagnose anything by smell, I sure did smell alot of something though!!!

Good for you being a Nurse, helping people and all! Thanks ~~

Mark

I was going to say smell, but I like your answer better. Makes sense (no pun intended).

I would give up taste as my sense of taste is becoming duller as I grow older.
