Here`s some interesting info on the smart car seems they have only sold 10,000 in Canada since October 2004.They had advanced orders for over 30,000 in the U.S.before it`s introduction. That`s crazy those things cost more that a HHR for 1/3 of a car

Base price for a 2004 Cabriolet Smart Car in Canada was $22,200.00 up to $30,000.00 loaded for a car with 40 HP.

Clik here to see a loaded 2008 Passion model for only $25,585 plus Taxes,Freight,PDI,and Administration.

A show on t.v. where they took a smart car, slammed it into a concrete barrier at 70 mph. The passenger compartment maintained its shap, you could still open the doors. The verdict was, the car survived, but the caveot was, a human body would not have survived the sudden impact . So,,think about that.

if

if it was the only car of it's class , i would consider owning 1 or 2...i can't remeber if it is electric...i would definatly own an electric vehicle , they are pricey , but uncle sam will pay for a nice chunk of it...i am actually chomping at the bit to have an electric vehicle....they got a bunch of them that do 0-60 in 4 seconds , at least 1 that will that will go 224 mph ....they also got a bunch that only go 35mph.....if i had the time and $ my hhr would have electric for the rear wheel drive as well as gas for front since most batteries only go so far....i only currently spend $500 a month on gas for the hhr...
