Especially, the DARK CHOCOLATE Snickers. Very hard to find, though.

Not every commercial is going o be funny to everyone or even make sense.
Exactly, I buy the snickers because of past experience with this candy bar, I love Snickers myself, but I never need a commercial to remind me to buy one. I also like Payday, Musketeers, and Milky Way. Again, I buy because of taste. As far as the Snickers Add.......well, I didn't think it appropriate for prime time, but then that's my opinion. When a new product does come out, commercials are a good way to advertise, but as far as commercials go.......exposure is the whole idea behind them, soo I guess it worked, people are talking about it. If people are talking, they generally buy too.

straight, engaged redneck... and i thought it was hilarious "quick do something manly!!!!" lmao...
we've just become too politically correct. too many people are out there telling us to not hurt others feelings. ehh... like carlos mencia said... be happy or change it, if your fat be fat and happy or lose weight, if your gay and happy etc... but dont expect people to not make fun of you for any reason.
as for cracker barrel the big fight was over them not allowing gay people to be servers. something about family atmosphere or morals or something. that and it started in lebanon tennessee.

I really hope we reach a point in this world when everyone's not so easily offended. Like I said, "HOPE" - don't think we'll ever get there in my lifetime. Besides, if these people really want to rally against someone, they should try the writers at MAD T.V. who did a Snickers-like add a few years back: Comedian Aries Spears gets pulled over by a cop, and the cop starts accusing him of driving a vehicle with many safety violations - all while smashing the lights, fenders, etc. of the car with his baton. The camera then shows Spears sitting on the curb while the cop goes to town on his car with the baton - Spears tears into a candy bar, whose wrapper is partially unreadable but looks just like a Snickers. A voice-over comes on and says: "Not going anywhere for a while? Try a Sniggers."
That doesn't offend me, but dang, it's hilarious!

The two trains of thought are,
(1) mad-tv is a satirical show, that for the most part comes on late (here at least) and you`re generally expecting that kind of material.
(2) The commercial pretty much acknowledges the idea that two guys accidentally touching mouths would, to most people, evoke the very sentiments that we`re discussing, "we better do something, to prove to ourselves, we did that by accident". ( Heck I know I`m not gay, but what about you? )
Snickers took a calculated risk, it`s still paying off, word of mouth is what generates sales.

Some of the gay community chooses to bypass companies that are not gay friendly or anti-gay. One example is Cracker Barrel. You won't see alot of gays eating here. I do! and pay for it with my Rainbow MasterCard. I always get a kick out of it knowing my meal purchase from them is giving a credit to a gay cause. Also if you've ever seen any gay related magazine you would be astonished on how many companies put out advertisements to earn the gay dollar. You have to remember the purchase power that gay Americans have. It's huge. I still don't find the Snickers ad offensive but obviously Snickers feels that its worth pulling the ad to retain customers.
I would be afraid to visit that website, I may be gay, but i'm not about to stop a product I like just becuase they are anti gay... especially if it was one of my favorite beers :)

Captain Howdy, after doing some research I did find that Cracker Barrel did rescind that policy. JimzHHR, I never had a use for the site for anything but just realized how handy it is when considering employment and whether your partner could receive your benefits. GM has an outstanding rating of 100%!!

Here is Cracker Barrels rating:
