Question Software Question

I am trying to help my son create an animated picture or animation, for his last school project of the year. Unfortunately my trial version from dell, I think it is proshop or something like that, has expired. Before I purchase their product does anyone have a recommendation of some good software for creating animations?

I use Paint Shop Pro 7. Very user friendly and I've been using it for about 7 years now.

Same here, Paintshop pro...I use it for animations and all kinds of stuff. That's what I used to make my signature graphic and the graphic I just posted for Shaginwgn's birthday.

Most of the graphics on my blog (http://completerunning.com/dawn-on-the-run/) were also created with Paintshop pro as well as my little running animation.

I went to upgrade my temporary Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 that had expired, but it takes me to Corel Paint Shop Pro X. Is that the same thing? When I did a google search they both pull up but Jasc is on version 9 and Corel appears to be version 10. Would that be correct?

Yes, Corel bought them, unfortunately.

After researching Corel, I found they took Animation Shop out of the product. You have to buy it as a stand alone product now. I'm glad I didn't click to pay the $100 until I checked them and their product out. I read a lot of bad reviews on the new paint shop too, but great reviews on the old Jasc product. It seems everything Corel buys gets screwed up by them. Now I am working on plan B.
