Darkness right now @ 3:18 EST

 

at 340 pm got cooler by about 10 degrees, amazing for DFW. All the solar lights in the back yard came on too. Got really dark and quiet. for 4 minutes......love it.

Totality is like a beautiful golden twilight on the horizon, only 360 degrees.

How quickly it goes dark.

Seconds.

 

Yep bout same here. Did notice the birds acting differently.. We didn't black out, just got dark, Then there was bright sunlight again.

 

Just to add to this.......Not a flicking thing. Didn't even notice if the shade or color of sunlight changed.

 

You musta been outa range.

 

The amount of light during totality is roughly 1/100,000 of daylight. So even a 99% partial eclipse is 1000 times brighter than totality. So yeah, if you were in AZ or FL it was alotta nuthin'.

The difference between a total eclipse and a partial or annular one is ... night & day.
