Sold the 'ol dependable "Beast"!

Yes, the time finally came to send my ol' 98 Tahoe down the road! She had 268K miles on it, so lot's of history with her... going back to Dec. 99 when I bought her with 42K miles on it. I bet we have been to over 30+ different states with her and she only let me down once, in Myrtle Beach, SC with a toasted fuel pump...

That was by far one of the most dependable rigs I ever had and sure hope that "Ray" (our '06 Saab 9-7x) can follow in those tire tracks! Here is a few of my favorite pics of that truck.

Sitting pretty at 200K miles, new tires & fresh wax job!

I understand I have a 95 suburban with 215,000 she has been and very dependable family trickster. I will miss her when it comes time to give her up. Won't miss the 9 miles per gal. Much tho.

Nice tahoe
I had a 97 tahoe .
Vortec 350 motor
Went through snow storms like they where not even there.
It also towed my racecar nicely as well.
Sadly I sold it since I was not racing as much and the low gas mileage.

Thanks, always liked the looks of that truck! Yes, the gas mileage wasn't great, but I could get about 16mg on highway if I drove reasonable.

Never once got stuck with that vehicle but sure pulled my share of folks out of the ditch! That truck didn't owe me a dime when I let it go!

Wow what a beautiful truck!!! When I clicked on the 200k picture, I expected to see an old worn out truck but it still looked like new!! Nice to see you took care of it, I hope the new owner kept her going with maybe a new engine.

Well, it sounds like you got your money's worth out of it anyway. Looks like a very nice truck in the pictures. I can tell you took really good care of that truck. No rust anywhere at all... I'm sure the next owner should be very happy...

Thanks, yes she looked really nice back then 3 years ago. It did look a little rougher when I sold it as it hadn't been garage for the last three years, but only small rust spots. Yup, I hope the new owners take his good care of it as I did. I did have to replace the motor at 106K and the transmission and transfer case went at 219 K. Be willing to bet that it will easily go another 100K!
