Tommorrow we begin our trip

Time is finally here, tomorrow morning we begin our journey to Denver, Colorado. We will stay overnight in Hays, KS. and complete our drive on Tuesday. Looks like a supper with Courthousedeb Tuesday night, a drive to Mount Evans (14,000 feet +) on Wednesday, Cardinals vs Rockies Wednesday night and Thursday night, a visit to the Downtown Aquarium Thursday afternoon, and drive home Friday. Not sure if we will stay overnight Friday night along the way or stop for the night yet. Going to see how the kids are doing, and how tired I get. I've taken the HHR to G2Gs in Illinois and the Quad Cities, but this is by far the longest trip, so I hope all goes well. Actually I'm more concerned with how my 8 year old boy and my 3 year old girl will do being stuck in the car for two days, or how my nerves will handle it . Unfortunately I don't have a laptop, so I won't be able to keep up with what's going on here. I'll take some pics and share when I get back. Looking forward to meeting Courthousedeb and seeing the Rocky Mountains for the first time. See you guys in a week.

Take that portable DVD player and hang 'em on the back of the front headrests. Have cartoons will travel?

Got it taken care of For Christmas last year we got the kids a dual screen DVD player that hangs on the headrests. The nice thing with the ones we got are you can play one movie on both, or a different movie on each. And with headphones I can listen to my music too. That should keep the peace and keep them from asking "are we there yet" for at least a half hour .

"Little Miss Sunshine" is a good road trip movie. Not sure it's ok for the little little kids though.

Oh boy, that's a long trip across KS. I've made that trip more times than I care to count and Sindy's dead-on with the DVD player, because after Topeka, there is nothing but miles and miles, of miles and miles. Be careful out there because it can get mighty windy, and dusty, going across the flatlands. But, when you see the Rockies for the first time, the trip will be well worth it. Hope you have a safe, enjoyable trip, with decent weather.

Regards,
Pat
