Tony Stewart and Toyota

I've been hearing the rumors of Joe Gibbs Racing making the switch to Toyota next season. I've been trying to ignore it hoping it wouldn't happen. Well today the "experts" are saying there is a 75% chance it's going to happen. I hate the thought of Tony Stewart leaving Chevy, and for Toyota of all things. Please don't let this happen!!!

At least Pontiac and Chevy are both GM products.

Yeh, but the NASCAR cars are not.

In today's common template bodies, if it weren't for the headlight and taillight stickers, none of us would have any idea of what car it is.

On any of the makes, you can bet that there is absolutely no part(s) shared with its street counterpart.

It is all just marketing the brand now.

Thats true, but, correct me if I'm wrong, the engine will still be made by toyota, correct? I may be wrong, but I thought the engines of the cars were produced by the racing division of that company, or some close affiliation.

I thought that NASCAR required that the hood and/or trunk lid (or at least the skins of them) be from the actual production vehicles.

Of course that would be hard with the car of yesterday
