Tornado in Enterprise just now...

The city of Enterprise AL just took a direct hit from a tornado. The High School was heavily damaged with students and faculty inside. As of the time of this post people are still trapped in the wreckage.I saw it go by on the other side of the airfield where I work. All we can do is pray.HB

As of right now still 8 people trapped. The damage is unimaginable. Was the tornado really 1/2 mile wide?

What I saw from the tower building at Shell Airfield was big...there was so much rain at the same time I couldn't really say how big....but while trying to get home after work I saw damage that was extensive...this tornado caused damage all the way to the GA line.I have several friends and coworkers who have children in the school as you must as well.My heart and prayers goes out to the kids and their families. They are calling for blood donations...I wish I could.HB

I heard about it earlier and hoped you were ok. My son often attended band competitions at Enterprise High. I'm watching the news from Dothan right now and it's unbelievable. We really dodged a bullet down here but it's not over yet.

Well that puts our storm last night in perspective. We had a car dealership trashed and 3 hangers at the airport destroyed including a private jet. It hit at 1:30 in the morning with 80 MPH winds, so thankfully no one was injured here. I can't think of a worse case senerio than what has happened in Alabama. Prayers go out to those in Alabama.

Talked to my brother today who lives in Enterprise. Fort Rucker and Ozark did receive damagae. Runkel Airfield is not in use amymore it has flooded too many times. My brother was stationed at Fort Rucker and retired there.
