Toyota is also burn cash as they have asked the Japanese Govt. for $2-$3 Billion. I guess their employee wages and salaries aren't low enough either.

Quite a few of the Toyota's that we can buy in the US are made in the US, but the headquarters are in Japan. Same as how GM makes cars all over the world (Australia, Korea, Canada, Mexico, etc.)

Of course some Toyotas are imported, but many are made in America. That's why I don't understand when people are so "Buy-American" then go and buy a GM car that's made in Canada!! Buying a Toyota that's made in Georgia or wherever they make them is COMPLETELY American! You're helping employ AMERICAN workers who build the cars!

Because they are built better and if you want a new Camaro you have no choice

Canadian built cars are loaded with parts from the U.S.

most companies

sell products at lower cost , take a loss , in order to generate some $. why don't gm , toyota , whoever do this??? us gov also giving aig 3m$ more of our $. it was stated that it was because of fear. i do not like fear , or for our country to be run by fear. if gm , toyota , aig , need my $ or then they fold as well as the world economy folds. then so be it. it is the law of nature and economy. we all buy their products. the people have done their part. more business for ford and other companies , this means more jobs , just a different employer. just like , i deliver parts. parts business is up. people are repairing instead of buying new.

But Eric, these "made in America" Toyotas are only assembled here...Japanese company, mostly japanese parts, and the money goes back to Japan...I'll stick with GM...American company that helped build our country!

No I understand, believe me! Like I said, look at what cars I drive! But in my opinion, to be truly "American" you'd have to buy an American Car (GM, Ford) which was built in America too. Like a Pontiac G6, Chevrolet Malibu, like that.

But I am by no means one of those people! Especially with my Mexican made HHR!
