tranny fill trouble

Hi Everybody!
My first post makes me feel dang stupid. I dropped the pan, changed the filter, went on top to find the fill/dip point, and guess what? Yep, I don't see it. I looked at an online manual, but not very helpful.
Please be precise, there has to be a way, right? I saw one post say something about sharing fluid with the brake system, but that doesn't make sense.
Thanks!

The HHRs transmissions are sealed transmissions - there is no dipstick on the top like they used to have.

Take a look at this thread on BITOG.

Download the PDF in that thread, and also look at the picture in the last post.

Thanks for the tip. Very helpful! I was just about to start pouring the drained contents, into something to measure the fluid that was removed, so I could replace the same amount. I did find the fill port, but couldn't locate the topper plug.
Thanks again! You da man!

Why would you need to change the transmission fluid already. How many miles on your HHR?

That's the right thing to do. BUT, how do you know the drained oil is the quantity that is in spec to GM requirements? Do you know the "full" amount weight/capacity?

I filled to the "top off" bolt, when it was hot, engine running, and in park.

I don't mean to jack the thread, but it's along the same lines:

How do you add power steering fluid, if you can at all?
When I was having problems with my car, it flashed the Power Steering warning a lot, so I automatically bought some fluid, and went to fill, but there isn't a place under the hood that I could see to put it. I checked the manual (which I should have done in the first place) and it said to take it to the dealer if the Power Steering warning flashed on the DIC.

You lift the rear hatch, remove the floor board, disconnect and remove the battery, attach the battery to a 4 stage charger and when it is totally charged reinstall it.

The power steering is assisted by an electric motor attached to the steering shaft under the dash.....no fluid needed.....
