I think they should make a diesel HHR, but I don't think that's ever going to happen. They never made a diesel HHR for Europe or foreign countries, did they?

Replacement I thought you were keeping the HHR? Really don't understand the necessity of the Diesel Cruze especially given its estimated MPG.

Well, financially I'll have to keep my HHR. Which I guess is ok, I really like it. I hadn't read the article, but dang, shouldn't a diesel get a lot better mileage? Well, either way I think I'd still take it over a regular gas engine... I like diesel better. Plus I can go 1,000,000 miles...

But really, that's just a couple MPGs better than the Cruze ECO.

Diesel cars are very popular in Canada, and have been for a long time, so I think the diesel Cruze will be a success here.

A diesel would be a hoot. Europe has has them for years. The question for you naysayers is "why wouldn't you want one?". 40+ Mpg and gobs of torque. Makes a hybrid look downright silly.

But that article is very misleading. The title says "confirmed". The rest of the article uses words like "rumored" and "mulling over", but never really state its for real. Of course they say "GMI says that additional sources within The General's engineering team have confirmed that an oil-burning Cruze is on the company's schedule.", yet don't say its scheduled for the US. Its not likely that this is really coming to the US.
