West meets East

Well, the weather is finally catching up out here in the Northeast. We've been having thunderstorms here every day. We had one go through today that only lasted 10 minutes, but produced 60 mph winds, extreme downpours, and up to grape sized hail in some areas. Everything happened so fast I didn't even have a chance to get the HHR in the garage. The roof seems to be okay with a few dents, but looking closely at the hood, I have at least 50. I need to wsh it and get a real good look and some photos. After the storm we went to the dealership to pick up my wife's Equinox. Luckily they didn't get the weather we got. The service manager looked at my hood, couldn't believe we had such severe weather only 4 miles away, and offered to hook me up with their paintless dent guy. For now, we'll see what happens.

A few years ago, I had dents from hail and my insurance covered it!!! Got the dents out and the hood painted.

Me neither. There was bigger but I didn't have a hard hat (no, I'm not kidding) and just didn't want to spend the Fourth in the hospital. The largest hail I have ever seen was less than pea sized, just big sleet really. I've only seen stuff like this in the mid-west, from the comfort of my chair no less.

I'll give my insurance company a chance to catch their breath, then call and see if I am covered.

The biggest hail I have seen was in the 60's and it was golf ball size. Did a number on our neighbors cadillac convertible! It was unbelievable.

This is what we got at the end of May from one of the bigger thunderstorms.

We've had more thunderstorms in the past two months than we've had the previous two years combined.

Hey, all of us in the Florida panhandle are thrilled about the storms coming through. We've been in a drought for several years and were down 5" of rainfall this year already. But you guys can keep the hail up north. I saw way too much of that when I lived in St Louis.
