They have already introduced a 2007 Escalade. One of my neighbors just bought a white one, very nice. That tops 60 grand, thats out of our range.

 

GM is doing the Ford thing...........making the larger SUV look smaller. The Expedition looks like an Explorer. The new Tahoe looks like an Escalade/Envoy/Colorado. The gas mileage will still be poor. But then again, if you can afford it..................

 

They need to start turning out full-sized SUV's with a potent 4-cylinder engine and 7-speed automatic. It's certainly do-able, they have the technology.

 

I guess theoretically, they could, but most who are buying full size SUV's are looking for POWER. That is why I have an 03 Suburban. I need the power for towing. It also has tons of room. I could get by with less room in a mid sized SUV with smaller engine, and better MPG, but then how would I pull a 23' boat? Just my .02...

 

The 4.8L V8 in our Tahoe is a little slow, I would hate to drive it with a 4 banger!
