that pup has a heart that beats to the same beat as a dogs and a heating pad that goes inside it. (it's called a snuggle puppie) i bought it for when we brought him home. he was only 6 weeks old. the battery has since worn out but he whines and cries if he doesn't have his baby. it's very cute. i hope the thing lasts as many times as i have had to wash it..... He's a great little pup. Just turned 12 weeks old yesterday.

Lets see.... 2 african grey parrots, Stormy (age 13) and Simon (age 3). I have had them since they were 3 weeks old. Stormy knows over 200 words and will ask for what he wants. Simon is still learning. I also have a cat that knows the birds are the bosses of the house!

I have 6 goldfish in an outdoor garden pond, and in an inside aquarium I have 7 gold barbs, 5 glowlight tetras, 4 cherry barbs, and one rubbernose pleco. I know some people don't consider fish pets, but I feed them daily, change 50% of thier water every week, and they interact with me like any dog I've had, so they are pets to me.

I'm reading this thread from the beginning right now, and Captain Howdy, I just wanted to say this to your wife - - labs are only for patient people. We had 2 and they stay puppies for EVER! My smartest one was such a "ball dog" that we couldn't teach him any manners --- it was "Where's the ball, when are we going, hubba hubba" - - all day long!! I wanted a dog that would look me in the eyes with devotion this year not when he was 5 years old. And the other lab, -HA --- she only had eyes for the male - he was the sun the moon and the ALPHA! Well, anyway, the most popular breed in the U.S. is just not for everyone, just had to throw our my 2 cents.

Here's what we ended up with after spending thousands on pedigreed dogs --- and thousands on their vet bills!!! 2 pound puppies that understand every word I say and respond like angels. (but they bark like MEAN DOGGIES at every passer by ) Zanzibar (Zanzi) and Xena - both boxer mixes, one with chow/pit and the other with Rhodesian Ridgeback.

We also have 6 cats

Our dogs love "their" cats. 3 inside, and 3 outside.
The outside cats - Cinderella, Pixie Dust, and Jammies:
I adopted Cinderella, after she followed DH and I home, starving.

Pixie Dust and Jammies were adopted at the pound, while I was paying my dog License...they came in in a checkbook box, still wet with cords attached. When the pound rejected them, guess what....

Then came my stint in Cat Rescue --- I wanted them all, but ended up with the triplets... they will always be inside cats, lap kitties born and bred. They are Paisley, my little darling,

And Polka Dot, and finally Pinstripe, our ONLY MALE ANIMAL...finally!!!
