A burgundy 1966 Ford Cortina GT! Paid $150.00 for it - ran about a year, tried to rebuild the engine - no luck. Sold it to a collector.

My first car was a 1975 El Camino with a worked Corvette 350.
Huge car that was a land barge on wheels, but I had the glass packs, and the swivel
bucket seats from a Monte Carlo. Purchased from my best friend for $1500 in 1988.

'57 Chrysler 300 with a sour motor for $100 in 1963. Rebuilt the engine (392 Hemi w/ factory dual quads rated @ 375 HP) in high school auto shop class, took it to the drag strip and blew the transmission. Yanked the engine and sold it for $100 and a shotgun to my cousin who put it in a speedboat. Junked the car - just the first in a series of bad automotive decisions.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda kept that one. Those are sweeeeet. This is probably one of my favorite on-going threads. Interesting to see how people remember their first cars so vividly.
