1979 Volkswagon Rabbit C
Turquoise blue with red racing stripes
White Interior
Perfect Condition
First VW made in America - PA (first European car produced in the US)
Square headlights in a black grill (for the first time)
It was very low milage used, I payed $2500.

The Rabbit C package was equipped with an AM/FM radio, a color-coordinated interior, reclining front seats, a rear window defogger, and a day/night rearview mirror. MacPherson struts, large disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and energy-absorbing bumpers were all standard equipment.

I bought the 1979 Rabbit b/c it got great gas mileage at a time when gas prices were soaring. 1979 was the year of the Second Oil Crisis. The price of gas had soared to 90 cents a gallon (ROTFLMAO)!!!

That my brother graciously totalled for me...I had just finished restoring it and my dad let him drive it to work. One and done! It cost me $200 and was a very nice car before he got t-boned. Baby blue with a small block 400.

In 1992 it was the middle car of a 3 car pile-up, rebuilt.

Still have it--runs GREAT, just needs a paint job and the 'hanger' antenna replaced. (Niece in college currently drives it)

1973 F-100

Mine was a 73' F-100 with a 360 and a 3 on the tree. Had baby moons on it and straight pipe. It was two tone blue and white. Got it for free from an aunt and all it needed was a carb rebuild. lol i got it in 2003.

Kind of off topic...but i wanted to list my second too...since it is the one i miss the most. It was a 1973 Oldmobile 98 Regency. Had the tiffany clock in it and all that. The car was PERFECT inside and my parents bought it at a auction for me for 1500. Had a 455 and th400 in it. had 62000 orig. on the odomenter when i got it. For a HUGE car it would do about 135mph and roast the tires till mid 2nd gear. They made me trade it for a pos 2000 cavalier and the dealer only gave me 300 for it....i still havent forgave my mom to this day lol.

1950 Pontiac 4 door. I was 14, and the owner (who I as hauling hay for that summer) said if I could drive it out of the field under it's own power, I could have it. Took me 4 months of evenings and weekends, but I did it. I learned a lot about flathead straight 8's and early hyrdamatic 2 speed autos that summer! LOL!

'67 Dodge Coronet 440 fast back with a gazillion miles on it. Burned more oil than gas, but it was fast! Paid $300.00 for it in 1973. First car I was allowed to drive was Pop's 67 Plymouth Belvedere. Slant 6 wasn't fast, but the 4 doors and big back seat sure helped out at the drive in!

1974 Toyota Celica GT. Sort of a brick red or rust metallic color, with white and tan interior. 5 speed. Bought from a co-worker of my Mom's for $2,200. Had new tires on it -- turns out they were re-caps, 4 different re-caps at that. Also had a clutch that was slipping ... so where did I take it for my first weekend, drive? Onto the hills of San Francisco! Popped a set of B.F. Goodrich TA's on it, had the clutch rebuilt, and I was cruisin'. Spent a lot of time cleaning that car up and getting it back into the best possible shape. Sold it 2 years later and got $400 more for it than I paid. Took the money and bought ...

My first NEW car, a 1981 Toyota Celica ST coupe. Ice blue metallic, 5 speed.
