Can't go wrong with an International Truck. They have 4 models. All have a diesel standard (I think).

Here's the website:

But seriously now, If you need a 4 door diesel, non duelly, you only really have 3 options. Ford, Chevy, Dodge. They have different models available depending on what you need the truck for.

Silverado HD trucks are good, capable trucks. They kinda lack decent styling though.

Not sure what to tell you to buy, but I can tell you what NOT to buy...

Don't buy Dodge. Period.

duramax was the way i was leaning towards, does anyone here own one? i've found a 2002 duramax truck, 2500, 4-door, with i belive its 60,000 miles... its white, it looks great, not a scratch on it. tires are brand new. they want 22,500 for it. does that sound like a fair price. i will most likely be tradeing in my HHR.. i just dont want to carry 2 car payments.

What do you need the truck for?

What are you planning on hauling?

i want it bassically for more room, my wife and i are planning to have kids sometime soon, and we have 3 dogs that we take everywhere with us usually. I got the chance to drive one a few weeks ago, i just loved how open it felt inside. and when i get a truck, i'll most likely get a topper for it, so the animals can ride back there. I was going to wait to get one, but i'd just like to do it and just plan ahead insted of waiting and it never getting done.

Also in the next few years i plan to get a pontoon boat, or camper, or both.. and the vehicles we have now arnt good to pull anything with..

This truck wont be a daily driver, i have a Caviler i use for that. It will be used occasionally on weekends, and for trips.

I probally dont NEED a diesel truck, but oh well. There cool :)

Sounds like there's a need for sure...

Just be prepared to faint when you fill it up at the pump. You may need to take out a second mortgage to pay for the fuel.

Where I live, Diesel is more expensive than Super Unleaded... and those trucks get about 12 mpg average (if you're lucky)...

My old Dodge was a gas burner, but I winced every time it went below a quarter of a tank because I knew it was going to hurt to fill it.

Thats a good price. Do you plan on towing with it ? If not, i would say get a newer crew cab 1/2 ton for the same price.
