Not saying these people (Snopes) don't make mistakes, but they don't get "hood winked". Almost every newspaper, magazine, or talking head using them as one of their references.
I've been using them for years....checking "pass along" e-mails stuff. If it's a sham, I MAY pass it on, but I tell people it's a sham and provide the link to Snopes (or one of several others).
